JAMMU, Oct 25: Several political and social organizations today staged protest against recent terror attacks in Kashmir which claimed lives of 10 people including 2 soldiers while as condemnations pour in from various quarters against these cowardly attacks demanding strong action against terrorist groups.
Infuriated over the recent killings, senior BJP leader and MP Gulam Ali Khatana called for stringent action, implying that the situation demands another surgical strike at terrorists’ camp and launching pads. Khatana pointed out that the Indian armed forces are fully equipped to respond to threats and that recent attacks will not go unanswered. Expressing deep condolences, Khatana paid tribute to the Indian Army soldiers and the porters who lost their lives in a recent militant attack in Gulmarg. He condemned the cowardly acts targeting unarmed civilians and frontline workers, stressing that such act would only strengthen India’s resolve to eliminate terrorism.
Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari described the recent terror attacks in Gagangeer, Ganderbal, and Botapather, Gulmarg as “highly alarming.” He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of two soldiers and two porters in last evening’s attack at Botapather. “I am deeply grieved by the loss of these lives. May the deceased rest in eternal peace, and may their families find the strength to bear the pain of this tragedy,” Bukhari said in a statement. He said that all the stakeholders must unite in their efforts for peace and stability in J&K.
MK Ajatshatru Singh, senior BJP leader and former minister, strongly condemned the recent series of selective killings in the Kashmir province. He emphasized that these heinous acts not only threaten the safety of the region’s citizens but also jeopardize the flourishing tourism sector, which is vital for the economic stability of J&K. He reiterated the importance of a united front against terrorism and called for immediate action to address these issues, stressing that the Government must prioritize the safety of its citizens to sustain and enhance the tourism industry in the Union Territory.
Senior BJP leader and former minister, Bali Bhagat expressed deep concern over the recent wave of selective killings in J&K, where several innocent lives have been lost in the past week. Terming these incidents as a heinous attempt to instill fear and disrupt peace in the Valley, Bali Bhagat called for immediate and aggressive combing operations to eliminate the remaining active terrorists operating in the region. He underscored that the time for leniency is over, and stringent measures are necessary to secure the safety and peace of the citizens.
BJP spokesperson, Advocate Purnima Sharma expressed her deep concern over the Gulmarg terror attack, describing it as a heinous act aimed at disrupting peace and sowing fear among the local populace. She stressed that the recent series of targeted attacks on civilians is a grave issue that warrants immediate attention and decisive action. She criticized the Omar Abdullah Government, calling upon it to fulfill its duty by prioritizing and ensuring the safety of citizens in Kashmir Province. She also extended her heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the attack.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir leaders paid emotional tribute to the soldiers of 18 RR and 2 Army porters who lost their lives in yesterday’s Gulmarg terror attack. Speaking on the occasion, the party leaders condemned the attack in strongest terms. The Party chief Manish Sahni demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to focus on J&K and to carry out surgical strikes on terrorist hideouts and launching pads across the border in Pakistan.
Chairman, People’s Democratic Front (PDF), Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen strongly condemned terror attack on Army vehicle near Botapathri area of Gulmarg. In a statement issued today, Hakeem Yaseen said that killing of innocent humans was against tenants of all religions. He said the recent spurt in terrorist attacks in various areas of J&K was a cause of concern for the peace loving people adding that the Government was duty bound to ensure safety of its citizens.
The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta took out a protest rally in Jammu city against the terror attack in Gulmarg which led to the killing of 2 porters and martyrdom of 2 army men. The party workers burned the effigy of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Gupta said that Pakistan-sponsored terrorism, faced by India in J&K, cannot end unless costs to the sponsors are made prohibitive. Talks will never be a solution as there is no common ground between the two nations, he added.
Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) organized an anti-Pakistan protest rally on Janipur Road near New Plot against recent Gulmarg terror attack. The activists of MSJK led by Sunil Dimple (president) burnt the effigies and flags of JEM, TRF and Pakistan. A large number of traders and prominent people participated in the rally. Addressing the protestors Sunil Dimple appealed the Union Government to work in unison with the elected government in J&K to root out terrorism from J&K.
Bajrang Dal activists also organized a strong anti-Pakistan protest in Jammu City against Gulmarg terror attack. They burnt effigies and flags of Pakistan and appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to eliminate the militancy in J&K by taking some strong steps.
