Provide 27% reservation to OBCs in J&K: AIBCU

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 23: In view of  today’s Jammu rally of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, state OBCs through AIBCU remind the statement of Shah made in Rajya Sabha on August 5, 2019 that  with the abrogation of art 370 , 52 % of J&K belonging to OBCs would be benefitted in big way.
In a press statement AIBCU, J&K unit general secretary said that Home Minister Amit Shah must know that his statement doesn’t match with practical share of OBCs  on ground who are called OSCs as OBC nomenclature in Jammu and Kashmir is still missing even after the abrogation of art 370  and 35-A. This abrogation bill so passed in the Parliament contains the contents that reservation rules of 2004 will only be applicable which provided  only 2% for OSCs and not OBCs.
There is no OBC category in Jammu and Kashmir inspite of its 60% population here.
During the Art 370, there was no OBC reservation and  even after the abrogation of art 370 there is no OBC reservation. Home Minister Amit Shah would clear the nomenclature of Jammu and Kashmir  that what type of nomenclature has been given to Jammu and Kashmir which does  not allow OBC reservation@27% in  JKUT.
Representatives of AIBCU tried to meet Home Minister but failed in their attempt as there is no any system in J&K for a deputation meeting either with the Home Minister or the the Prime Minister, to whom OBCs can express their views and problems being faced by them.
The OBCs body has appealed the Home Minister to implement the apex court’s judgement of 1992 on Mandal Report forthwith as the majority people of J&K belonging to Other Backward Classes have suffered a lot under the regional political rulers.
