Provide accommodation to package employees: YAIKS

JAMMU, Oct 31: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) Core Committee which met here, today under the leadership of its president, R K Bhat discussed various issues pertaining minorities in the Valley.
It expressed serious concern over the accommodation problem being faced by the PM package employees who despite all odds volunteered to work in Valley. It alleged that the Government during last 10 years since the package was announced for 6000 employees failed to construct accommodations to accommodate all the employees with the result they are facing the accommodation problem and 75 percent package employees are living in rented accommodations.
The meeting appealed the Government to take the cognizance of the issue and hire some private accommodation for the employees facing the accommodation problem till the quarters for accommodating these employees are constructed. YAIKS also demanded security for minorities living in Valley under prevailing circumstances.
YAIKS urged the Government to start the construction of more quarters on war footing basis and also restore those quarters to the package employees which are under the occupation of administration.
The meeting among others was attended by B K Bhat and Sunil Koul vice presidents, Manoj Handoo general secretary, Ajay Safaya, Sanjay Ganjoo and Rakesh Fotedar secretaries.
