JAMMU, Sept 18: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali today asked the oil companies to reach out to the people and provide maximum benefits to them under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
The Minister was speaking during a meeting convened to review the arrangements for launch of PMUY in Jammu and Kashmir here today.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti will formally launch Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) on September 28 in the State by distributing free connections among the beneficiaries.
Representatives of oil companies apprised the Minister of various arrangements being made for PMUY launching ceremony.
Zulfkar asked the representatives to expedite the process of identifying beneficiaries in the State especially in remote areas where this scheme needs to be implemented in true spirit. It was informed that around 90,000 cases have been cleared so far and the process is in progress.
“There should be no stone left unturned in implementing this ambitious scheme meant especially for the women of BPL household”, the Minister stressed.
Zulfkar exhorted upon the officers of the FCS&CA Department, LMD and oil companies to work in a coordinated manner and put concerted efforts for serving the people.
He also asked Director FCS&CA to constitute sub committees for the function which will be organized at Srinagar and Jammu on same day.
Director FCS&CA Jammu, G S Chib, Joint Director FCS&CA Jammu Mansoor Ahmed Chowdhary, Joint Controller LMD Jammu V S Sambyal, Chief Manager HPCL Arun Garg, Senior Regional Manager HPCL Ajay Singh, SDRM IOCL Hari Anupam, concerned senior officers of FCS&CA, LMD and oil companies were present in the meeting.
