Provide relief through Army in J&K: Darakhshan

SRINAGAR, Sept 15: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) president, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has urged upon the   Union Government to provide relief  material and cash to the flood affected people of  Jammu and Kashmir through Army as there was every possibility that funds may not reach up to the deserving suffering families.
In a press statement issued today,  the SDP leader who also remained trapped in the flood for two days said that State Government has totally collapsed. Whole Srinagar city and other parts were submerged in flood water of Jhelum and only Army and Air Force was seen providing relief and rescuing helpless people. NDRF teams also later joined. No minister from the ruling Government or top functionaries were visible anywhere for a week.
Dr Andrabi said that general public of Kashmir have apprehensions that relief announced by the Prime Minister  worth hundreds of crores would not reach up to them under the present Government in the State. The funds worth crores are likely to be pilferaged for being used in coming elections. She urged upon that Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide this relief to the affected families through Army as only Armed Forces are seen involved in the whole rescue and relief operation with full dedication in Kashmir.
