JAMMU, Aug 17: All J&K Electric Department Linemen & Workers Union has demanded ex-gratia/relief in favour of the family of deceased Lineman who was killed while working on a live power line in New Rehari area five days ago.
In a meeting of the Union members held here today under the leadership of Ashiq Hussain, president of the Union, the members expressed shock over the death of their colleague, Hem Raj who was killed after falling from a pole while working on power line near Govt Quarters, in New Rehari area of Jammu on August 11. They said that they lost a dedicated and hard working member.
The Union demanded compensation from the Welfare Fund and also exgratia-relief in favour of the family besides a job for one of the family members of the deceased Lineman under SRO-43. They also demanded an inquiry into the incident and action against the culprits. The members paid homage to the departed soul during the meeting.
