SRINAGAR, May 30: Expressing concern over casual approach being adopted by the Government to provide compensation and relief to the earthquake affected areas of erstwhile Doda district, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today regretted that no survey, so far, has been conducted in hilly areas of Ramban district which also suffered huge loss due to tremors.
In a statement issued here today, spokesman of PDP Naeem Akthar pointed out that Kastigarh and other hilly areas of Ramban district also suffered extensive damage due to May 1 tremor.
“Woes of inhabitants of this belt have been increasing with every passing day but the authorities seem to be unconcerned”, he regretted.
Akthar said that Government has so far failed to assess total losses in this region and demanded relief for earthquake affected people of district Ramban.
