SRINAGAR, Feb 23: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) has demanded immediate increase of ration to 15 kgs per month per soul under National Food Security Act (NFSA).
In a meeting here today PRP president Mir Ghulam Rasool and general secretary G A Hamdard said that the implementation of NFSA has led to the problems of the people and they all are up in arms against the same.
They said NFSA is a cheating with common masses and Government should immediately revoke the same by taking the people into confidence.
Mir while addressing the meeting said that in Kashmir people are rice eaters and five kgs of rice and two kgs of flour will not suffice one person to keep his body and soul together.
Mir said in case the ration is not supplied per soul then the authorities should supply the ration as per old scale 35 kgs per family per month. He said in view of the growing public resentment against the NFSA the Government should take the cognizance of the same.
