PRP’s concern over delay in construction of New Ganderbal Project

JAMMU, Apr 29: People’s Republican Party (PRP) in its meeting at Ganderbal today held under the leadership of its president Mir Ghulam Rasool has expressed concern over the delay in construction of 100 mw New Ganderbal Hydro Electric Project on which work has been started over two decades back.
The meeting demanded that the work on this project be expedited to increase power generation in the State so that the increasing demand of electricity is overcome.
It urged the Government to take up the construction of more power projects in hand in the State to improve generation so that the domestic demand can be met and power crisis are averted. Besides, this initiative will also lead to employment generation and boost industrialization in the State.
The meeting urged the Chief Minister to prioritize these issues. It also while expressing concern over growing unemployment and plight of educated unemployed youth stressed on opening of new projects for employment generation, filling up of vacant posts in various departments and streamlining  their functioning.
This will help in decreasing the alienation of the people and developing the trust of masses on governance.
The meeting also expressed its satisfaction over granting rebate on interest to flood victims and regularization of casual laborers and appealed the Government to take more public welfare measures.
Later the delegation of PRP also called on D C Ganderbal and discussed peoples problems with him.
