REASI, May 11: A meeting of Private Schools’ Association (PSA), Unit Reasi was held here today to discuss their demands.
The heads of various private schools of Darmadi, Mahore, Pouni, Ghar Jito, Katra, Penthal, besides members of executive bodies of District Kathua, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda, Kishtwar and Samba participated in the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Prof JL Kotwal, chairman PSA, Jammu Province and addressed by Kamal Gupta, president PSA, Jammu Province, MM Joshi, general secretary PSA, Jammu province and Ajay Gupta, State coordinator, PSA.
In the meeting representatives of different tehsils and districts put up the problems being faced by the private schools of Jammu province due to ambiguous and unwarranted orders issued by the concerned Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of different districts.
They alleged that all such orders are not in uniformity with each other and in some cases contradictory to the orders issued by the Director School Education (DSE), Jammu.
President, Kamal Gupta assured the house that such orders issued by the different CEOs  will be strongly taken up to the higher authorities and association will take all steps to force the Government to adopt uniform norms to deal with the matters like recognition upto class 8th, counter sign of school leaving certificate, etc.
Chairman, Prof JL Kotwal said that no such order or policy be implemented by any agency till the recommendations of review committee are received by the Government. He also appealed the chairman of the committee and DSE Jammu to arrange meeting of all members nominated by the Government as early as possible to frame transparent and proper guidelines for the smooth functioning of private schools of the State.
