PSA highlights difficulties being faced by small private schools

JAMMU, Sept 19: An emergency meeting was called by the executive members of central body of JK Private Schools Association Jammu, here today to highlight various issues and discuss the situation that has erupted due to the withdrawal of Krishen Singh from the post of president, Unit Samba.
Members unanimously resolved that Pardeepak Sambyal (General Secretary Samba) will look after the day to day issues pertaining to private schools of Samba till the election for post of district president is held.
President of the association, Ajay Gupta told the members that officials at the Directorate of School Education have allegedly monopolized the entire system by manipulating the decision taken by the then Principal Secretary to the Government, School Education Department B K Singh regarding change of nomenclature/location of private schools. He appealed to the incumbent Principal Secretary, School Education Department, Alok Kumar to review the said circular to save private schools from torture and harassment.
Members of the Association alleged that obtaining an order of approved management committee from the Director School Education has become a big problem. Character certificate of the members involved in the management committee and verification of antecedents of the same members from the CID are being demanded by the officials of DSE, they said and demanded single window, online and time bound mechanism to ease the work of private schools.
Those who attended the meeting, included Deepak Handa (Sr vice president), Gaurav Charak, Ajay Singh, Lal Chand Gandotra, Siddheshwar Sadotra, Vishal Jamwal, Vijay Sharma, Laddi Kumar, Anupam Singh, Shabir Ahmed, Rajesh Kumar, Karuneshwar, Harbans Lal, Ashok Kumar and others.
