PSA submits memorandum, demands amendment

JAMMU, Nov 24: The executive members of central body of J&K Private Schools Association presented a memorandum to Secretary, School Education Department, Farooq A Shah here today.
While speaking, the members’ highlighted number of problems of private schools of the State which included 8 per cent hike in fee whose base is kept August 2014, teething problem in obtaining NOC’s form different departments, recognition up to 8th class functioning since decades etc.
The members demanded amendment in order no 106 FFC of 2017 dated 20/10/17 issued by FFC in which educational institutions are authorized to increase 8 per cent of the tuition fee by considering base of August 2014 as FFC has come out with a draft to regulate enhancement of fee structure of private educational institutions in 2017. The members also asked the Secretary to direct the FFC to withdraw its order FFC/Jmu-17/706-727 dated 08/11/17 which was circulated to all CEOs for collecting the details of fee since 2014 to 2017 of all private schools functioning in different zones through concerned Zonal Education Officers as it is required for those schools which wanted to enhance fee more than 8 per cent. They also demanded recognition to all schools functioning since decade and single window clearance system.
Secretary, School Education Department, Farooq A Shah gave a patient hearing and assured the members to redress their genuine problems due to FFC and non availability of recognition to the schools functioning since decade.
The executive members of JKPSA who presented the memorandum were Prof JL Kotwal, Chairman, Kamal Gupta, President, Rameshwar Mengi, Vice President, Ajay Gupta, General Secretary, Chain Singh from Udhampur, Siddheshwar Sadotra, etc.
