SRINAGAR, May 18: Abdul Latief Deva, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhavan here today.
The Governor and Chairman discussed the advances made by the Commission and some of the difficulties, legal and others, which had impeded the pace of its work. The Governor emphasized the high importance of the Commission maintaining unimpeachable standards as even a slight compromise would lead to the functioning of public offices, departments and agencies being marred by the inadequate performance of functionaries who were not selected on merit.
The Governor suggested to the Chairman to make the maximum use of information technologies in the conduct of exams by preferably bringing all processes online, to ensure greater transparency and enhanced efficiency.
