SRIHARIKOTA (Andhra Pradesh), Dec 30 : Taking its space journey to the next level and ushering in the New Year with a bang, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Monday night became fourth country in the world to demonstrate the Space Docking Experiment technology, key for Human space flight, with the successful launch of the complex PSLVC-60/SPADEX Mission from the SHAR Range here.
After a smooth 25 hr countdown, the 44 m tall reliable and workhorse launchvehicle of ISRO, with a lift off mass of 229 tonnes, took off majestically fromthe First Launch Pad at 2200 hrs 15 secs, two minutes behind the scheduled time of 2158 hrs, lighting up the night skies and precisely injected a pair of Spadex Satellites in to the desired orbit.
