PTA holds meet, projects demands

JAMMU, Apr 21: Provincial Teachers Association (PTA) held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president Avtar Singh.
While speaking, Avtar Singh fully endorsed the statement of Abdul Majid Khan, President, All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation with regard to release of 6 per cent DA installment, raising pension of aged pensioners on central pattern and revision of TMA in respect of Durbar move employees.
He urged the State Government and concerned authorities to redress other grievances including release of 6 per cent DA installment from January 2016 in cash, enhance medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, extend leave encashment benefit to teachers, issue formal orders of adjustment of teachers promoted as masters, end inchargeism in Education Department by issuing formal promotion orders, regularize the services of teachers and employees appointed on adhoc and contractual basis and strict adherence to transfer norms.
Singh called upon the teachers all over Jammu province to participate in ensuing May Day Rally and procession being organized by LPEF on April 30 to pay tributes to May Day martyrs and also to highlight the pending issues.
