PTU expresses concern over issues of SPOs

JAMMU, Jan 17: Panthers Trade Union (PTU) general secretary, Sewa Singh Bali has expressed concern over the issues of SPOs in J&K and Ladakh.
Addressing a press conference today at New Delhi he said that SPOs of J&K and Ladakh should be given facilities like good pay, allowances, pension, housing loans etc as is given to regular cops.
Talking to reporters, Bali said that step motherly treatment to SPOs must be stopped.
“SPOs are well qualified and they are performing duties honestly. We will leave no stone unturned for justification to them,” he maintained demanding that the authorities should frame regularization policy for SPOs and enhance their salaries.
His more demands included implementation of Minimum Wage Act to SPOs and calling back all the disengaged SPOs to their departments.
The PTU leader said that SPOs should be given the grade of constable and their uniform charges should be raised from Rs. 1500 to 3000.
He further said that a writ petition will soon be filed in Supreme Court regarding the issues of SPOs.
