JAMMU, June 23: Police Transport Workshop Jammu organised Orientation Workshop on “Maintenance of Police Departmental Vehicles”.
The workshop was attended by all the MTOs, MT Clerks and representatives of all District Police and different Wings of Police Department established in Jammu Province.
Ranjit Singh Sambyal, Superintendent of Police, Police Transport Workshop Jammu inaugurated the workshop.
In his inaugural address, Sambyal welcomed all the participants of different Police Establishments and briefed the participants about the motives behind organizing such workshop on awareness and maintenance of vehicles of Police Department.
Sambyal stressed upon the adoption of installation of Global Positioning System (GPS) in the Police Department vehicles which will enable fleet management functions such as fleet tracking, routing, dispatching, on-board information and security and safety to the jawans travelling in the departmental vehicles. The system will provide real-time location of all drivers of Police Departmental vehicles with great efficiency during the Law and Order duties and other VVIP/ essential duties. Moreover, Fuel Monitoring will be an another important usage of vehicle tracking to monitor the fuel through tracking device, besides, distance calculation as the tracking device will automatically calculate the distance travel by the fleet.
Sambyal also requested all the Unit heads with regard to servicing of departmental vehicles as per the service schedule already given by the concerned vehicle manufacturing companies in the service manual of the particular vehicle.
