Public grievances mounting, BJP still unmoved: Bhalla

JAMMU, Dec 4: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that public grievances are mounting every day but the BJP Government has remained unmoved.
Addressing public meeting at Rajiv Nagar in Gandhinagar constituency today Bhalla said that public issues and grievances are pilling up with the passage of every day but the Administration has failed to solve the basic issues. He said the people of Rajiv Nagar put their grievances before him particularly hefty power tariff bills expressing inability to pay such bills and that too when there is unscheduled power cuts in the area.
Bhalla further demanded to suitably accommodate all those who have been served notices in the wake of road widening activity. He regretted that despite construction of nearly 600 flats in the area at the cost of crores after the intervention of party president Sonia Gandhi who had visited the area and had recommended to suitably accommodate inhabitants, but nothing has been done in this regard by BJP Govt.
Former minister said Congress is fully capable to defeat the communal and fascist forces which are hell bent upon to divide the people on religious and regional lines to serve their vested interests, but at the same time, he said people of JK UT have realized the politics gimmicks of various groups and parties which were trying to make inroads in JK to create confusion among the voters. He stressed upon the people to remain vigilant against the political exploitation by BJP and ensure support to Congress Party.
Bhalla termed the privatization of Power Development Department (PDD) as anti-people move of the Govt which would badly affect the common and poor man besides the service condition of employees, especially the fate of daily wagers, need-based and casual workers. Urging the Government to review its decision and take into consideration the demands of the employees, he described the privatization as anti-people.
He lashed out at the Centre and State Government over being indifferent and insensitive to the woes of the people due to continued agitation over the issue of Toll Plaza at Sarore.  While reiterating the demand for immediate stoppage of Toll Plaza at Sarore, Bhalla said that BJP is totally indifferent to the genuine demand which will affect all section of people from various parts of the country, being tourist and pilgrims’ state.
