RAMBAN, Sept 28: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today convened a meeting to review the pace of ongoing developmental works in Ramban here.
MLA, Ramban, Neelam Kumar Langeh, DDC Ramban, Bashir  Ahmed Dar, SSP Ramban and other senior officers of the concerned department were present in the meeting.
The Deputy Chief Minister took a detailed review of the development works being carried out by various line departments and directed the concerned executing agencies to ensure that the prescribed time lines are strictly adhered to with strict monitoring for creating durable assets.
Dr. Singh stressed on constituting a committee of officers, technical experts and members of civil society to monitor the quality and timely completion of works. “Public partaking is vital for strengthening the developmental initiatives of the Government”, Deputy Chief Minister said.
He also laid emphasis on tapping the tourism potential in the area and envisaging projects that can attract tourists to the unexplored areas of the area.
Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers of Power Development Department to sensitize the consumers about the amnesty schemes to clear their outstanding electricity dues.
Dr. Singh reiterated that the Government is committed to bring transparency, accountability and performance in the administrative set up to ensure that a tangible change is felt at the grass root level.
MLA Ramban apprised the Deputy Chief Minister about  various demands of the  people including restoration and completion of PWD and PMGSY roads, school buildings, filtration plants, distribution of scholarship and old age pension, uninterrupted power supply, deficiency of staff in GDC Ramban and District Hospital Ramban.
