SRINAGAR, Feb 22: A Public Prosecutor with the District and Sessions Court Budgam, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 for defending a case in the court.
The accused, namely Nayeem Ahmad was caught by the Vigilance sleuths following a complaint by Reyaz Ahmad Mir of Budgam, who alleged that the former was demanding a graft of Rs 1 lakh for defending the under trial case regarding murder of latter’s father. The Public Prosecutor also threatened to favour the accused in case of non payment of illegal gratification.
On the complaint, Vigilance laid a trap and arrested Sheikh Nayeem Ahmad while demanding and accepting the bribe amount from the complainant.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
