JAMMU, Aug 24: The public from Muthi Camp, Paloura and adjoining areas has been badly suffering as National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has not provided direct passage at Muthi Camp and Paloura, under the new Flyover on Jammu-Akhnoor highway.
The residents of Muthi Camp, officials of Directorate of School Education and Food & Drug Organisation told the Excelsior that Muthi Camp Chowk on Jammu-Akhnoor highway provides vital link to many localities including Roop Nagar and Janipur, but after the construction of new flyover, no direct access has been provided at this important crossing by the National Highway authorities for the road users. The people are made to go ahead or back more than 700 meters taking U-Turn to reach their destination.
Similarly, the passage at the Paloura crossing under the flyover has been closed by the road construction agency , adding to the woes of the public and people residing in Paloura, Toph Sher Khanian, Patoli and Subhash Nagar. The locals of the area have urged the concerned authorities to open these crossings and provide suitable and free access to the road users at these two points for smooth movement of traffic.
