JAMMU, Mar 30: Punjab Group of Institutions is offering special freeship for Jammu and Kashmir students in its professional courses.
This was stated by Prof Dalbir Singh (Director Campus) along with Er Jarmanjit Singh Sandhu (Managing Director Punjab Group of Institutions), in a press conference here on Saturday.
“We have many offers and concessions for J&K students and have reserved some seats for them in various disciplines such as B Sc (Agriculture), B Sc (Med /Non Med), BBA and BCA,” said Dalbir Singh and announced freeship for meritorious students with more than 90 percent marks in their qualifying exam (5 seats), students belonging to economically and backward classes with parent’s income upto Rs 1.5 lakh per annum (5 seats), students with positions in National Competitions in Sports/Cultural activities (2 seats) and relaxation in fee for the students who want to do Ph D. He also announced one seat reserved for the wards of media fraternity in the college.
Punjab Degree College, Faridkot, affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, has been imparting holistic, innovative and job oriented education since its inception in 2016 with a vision to sharpen the academic cultural and sportive aura of the students along with dissemination of quality academic skills, thereby enabling the students to play an effective part in the Societal structure and global excellence.
“A fully furnished and well-equipped building, spacious sports arenas and a peaceful, pollution free environment and highly qualified and UGC approved faculty all contribute to the growth of sound academic ambience in the campus,” Prof Dalbir Singh said.
Highlighting their goals, he further said, “We have facilitated quality education using the latest teaching and learning methods, establish lasting relationships between the students and the society they live in, provide a platform for students of different States thereby giving them opportunities to learn through interaction and enabling them to join the global competition for excellence, inculcate awareness among the youth about entrepreneurship through experimental programme.”
“It will be our earnest effort to adjust all our students from professional courses through campus placement. We have inked MOUs with industry and universities in India and abroad for students training and placement,” Prof Dalbir Singh said.
