JAMMU, Mar 9: Gandhi Nagar police arrested a Punjab resident and recovered 20 grams of heroin from his possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia, under the supervision of SDPO South Dr Sunniya Ashkoor Wani laid a naka at Chattri Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered 20 grams of heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Gurpreet Singh alias Goldi, son of Bachan Lal of District Gurdaspur Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 62/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
