Punjab resident arrested with poppy straw

JAMMU, Aug 11: Pacca Danga police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a Punjab resident and recovered poppy straw from his possession.
As per police sources, during checking at Manda, a team from Pacca Danga Police Station intercepted a pedestrian coming from Nagrota towards Jammu City.
During checking, police recovered 5 kilograms of poppy straw from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Jasvinder Singh, a resident of Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 120/18 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pacca Danga and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Pacca Danga SI Dheeraj Nagpal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City North Varun Jandial, Incharge SP City Girdhari Lal Sharma and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
