Punjabi Deptt organises seminar

JAMMU, Feb 15: The Guru Nanak Chair in the Post Graduate Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu, organised a daylong seminar here on the theme, “Guru Nanak Dev Ji Di Bani Di Samkali Prasangikta”.
As per a statement, Prof Rajni Kant, Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion while S Ranjeet Singh Tohra, President DGPC Jammu and Advisor, National Minority Commission, the Guest of the Honour.
Prof Rajni Kant appreciated the efforts of the Guru Nanak Chair in the Department of Punjabi to discuss the important issues conveyed by the teaching and principal of Guru Nanak, a great philosopher, visionary, and thinker.
In his address, S Ranjeet Singh Tohra, President, DGPC Jammu said that there is a need of self-realisation to be associated with the path of spiritualism shown by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in his theological ideas.
He further added that the complicacies in the life of commoners in the present times can be addressed by the revolutionary ideas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Prof. Satnam Kour, Head, Department of Pscyhology, University of Jammu presided over the first session of the National seminar.
In the second session (academic session), Prof Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages, Jammu, Dr Baljeet Singh Raina, President Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Jammu and Kashmir and others expressed their views on the research paper presented during the academic session.
Dr Harjinder Singh, Assistant Professor, conducted the proceedings of the programme.
