Punjabi echoes on 5th day of JKAACL Poetry Festival

JAMMU, Dec 26: The Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture, and Languages (JKAACL) successfully organised the fifth day of the Poetry Festival, dedicated to the Punjabi language, at JKAACL complex in Jammu today.
The Poetry Festival intends to accommodate more than 250 poets of seven different languages- Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri, Dogri, Punjabi, Gojri and Pahari – with a day dedicated to every language.
Dr Jatinder Udhampuri, acclaimed Punjabi and Dogri writer, was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, Dr Udhampuri congratulated and applauded the initiative of Bharat Singh, Secretary (JKAACL), for taking up such endeavours. The event was presided over by Ajit Singh Mastana, an eminent Punjabi writer and president of Punjabi Sahit Sabha Kashmir, praised the literary initiative of the JKAACL to envision the vibrant Punjabi culture and literature through a creative lens.
During the event, Dr Monojit, a noted Punjabi writer and president of Punjabi Lekhak Sabha Jammu, was the guest of honour. He appreciated the initiative of the JKAACL for providing a platform to the youth- the future of literature to express their creative expression.
Bharat Singh, Secretary JKAACL, accorded a warm welcome to everyone. While addressing the audience, he extolled the contribution of the Punjabi language and poets, in general, to society; he further affirmed that JKAACL shall continue to work towards its literary endeavours aimed at the promotion of Punjabi literature both in the Jammu and the Kashmir region.
Ajit Singh Mastana, Amarjeet Kour Neer, Baljeet Singh Raina, Bhupinder Singh Bhargav, Balwinder Singh, Harjeet Singh Uppal, Devinder Singh Vishvnagrik, Harbhajan Singh Upashak, Dr Monojit, Dr Snobar, Aman Preet Kaur, Bachan Bharti, Gurpreet Kaur, Pyasa Anjum, Dr Joginder Singh Shan, Harpal Singh Pali, Suraj Singh Suraj, Rajpaul Singh Mastana, Devinder Singh Dhanjal, Mangat Singh Jugnu, Dr Mamta, Suraj Prakash Rattan, Shamsher Singh Chouhalvi, Saran Star, and Jang Singh Verman graced the event.
Popinder Singh Paras, Editor (Punjabi) at JKAACL, conducted the proceedings on the fifth day of the Poetry Festival. Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary of the Divisional Office (JKAACL), expressed a vote of thanks to the august gathering for their valuable presence at the event.
On Tuesday, December 27, the JKAACL is dedicating the sixth day of the Poetry festival to the Gojri language.
