Purse snatching case solved; two notorious thieves arrested

JAMMU, Nov 16: Gadigarh Police solved a purse snatching case with the arrest of two notorious thieves including a lady.
As per police sources, yesterday a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Gadigarh by a lady namely Laxmi Verma, wife of Pawan Verma of Pritipur Bishnah stating that on 14-11-2021 near Gadigarh one unknown boy along with one unknown lady came on white colour scooty without registration number and snatched her purse containing gold jewellery including Mangal Sutar, two ladies rings and cash amounting Rs 20,000.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 263/2021 under Section 382 IPC was registered at Police Station Satwari and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Post Gadigarh led by Inspector Lakhvir Singh was constituted under the supervision of SHO Satwari Inspector Deepak Jasrotia and SDPO South PK Mengi.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally rounded up a suspect namely Pavneet Singh, son of Narinder Singh of Chatha Farm. During sustained questioning, he confessed his involvement and also revealed the involvement of his associate lady namely Balwinder Kour, wife of late Kulwant Singh of Raipur Satwari, who has also been arrested.
During further questioning both the accused confessed their involvement in the above case and on their disclosure one Mangal Sutar weighing 3.5 tolas, one ladies ring and Rs 14,000 cash were recovered.
It is pertinent to mention that both the accused persons were previously also arrested in a case FIR Number 62/2021 under Sections 454 and 380 IPC registered at Police Station Domana.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
