Pushkar Amawas celebrated

JAMMU, Sept 1: Pushkar Amawas was celebrated with religious fervor today.
In this connection a function was organized by Magam Bangil Sabha here under the chairmanship of T N Bhat. On the occasion pooja -archana was also performed and the significance of the day was highlighted by the speakers.
Speaking in the function Raj Nath Raina president of the Sabha said that prior to migration the day was celebrated at the shrine at Khag in tehsil Beeru of Budgam district of Kashmir valley by the Sabha. He said the description about the festival is fully given in Neelmat Puran and the day is celebrated since Puranic period.
The function was also attended by Choni Lal Garu, Moti Lal and R  N Raina the other members of the Sabha.
