Putin expresses deep condolences over death of Kissinger

MOSOCW, Nov 30: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday offered his deep condolences in connection with the death of former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

Kissinger, known for his contributions to contemporary political discourse and the field of international relations, died on Wednesday at his home in the US state of Connecticut.

He was 100 years old.

“Dear Mrs. Kissinger, please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your husband, Henry Kissinger.

An outstanding diplomat, a wise and far-sighted statesman, who for many decades enjoyed well-deserved authority throughout the world, has passed away,” Putin said in a message posted on the Kremlin’s website.

Kissinger’s name is associated with a pragmatic line that made it possible to achieve detente and reach important agreements with the United States, the president added.  (UNI)
