JAMMU, Aug 28: To deliberate on the complications due to non availability of recognition by the Education Department on the basis of affiliation and delay in holding the Affiliation meeting by the JKBOSE for granting the extension in Affiliation to the Private schools, a meeting was organized by the executive members of central body of J&K Private Schools Association under the chairmanship of Prof J L Kotwal, Chairman PSA Jammu.
General Secretary of the Association, Ajay Gupta informed that State Affiliation Committee vide its order number 96-B of 2019 dated 01/02/19 has categorically decided to form a quarterly calendar for the conduct of meeting to resolve all pending cases to grant up-gradation / renewal to the institutions running High & Higher Secondary classes . Even as the matter regarding issuance of online recognition on the basis of affiliation to eradicate corruption and to promote single window clearance system has been brought in the notice of Secretary Education but till date most of Jammu based schools are deprived of such benefit,” he added.
Moreover, he further said, on the one hand JKBOSE has opted combination of subjects at +2 stages as per the standard set by CBSE but on the other hand the combination is manipulated especially from faculty of Science to Medical and Non Medical stream to impose fine of Rs one lakh on +2 schools of Jammu Province only vide its order no.:- F (Gen – cir) B/JD/2019 dated 21/02/19.
Prof J L Kotwal said that affiliation accorded by the JKBOSE by bifurcating Science into Medical and Non Medical stream has established a new precedent. The JKBOSE should specify the subjects to be taught in the Science stream as done in case of CBSE affiliated schools, he added.
Members present in the meeting demanded from the State Affiliation Committee to reconsider the order of imposing a fine of Rs one lakh w.e.f. April 01, 2019 to the affiliated Higher Institutions of Jammu Province only as this order is based on the flimsy grounds. They also appealed to the Government to shift all files of Jammu Division which have been taken to Srinagar during Darbar move.
The members who attended the meeting, included Rameshwar Mengi, Ajay Singh, Vaneet Gupta, R P Singh and others.
