JAMMU, July 26: Executive members of central body of J & K Private Schools Association held its meeting under the chairman ship of Prof J.L.Kotwal chairman Private Schools Association at KNIT Jammu wherein members condemned the attitude of the Govt. towards unaided Private Schools which are affiliated & recognized by the State Government.
In the meeting state coordinator Ajay Gupta briefed the central body regarding the circular No: Edu/ Legal/ K/ 92/ 2015 dt. 08/07/2015 issued by the State Govt. about fee hike & fee fixation committee in J&K.
All members were of the opinion that this order does not pertain to the unaided Private Schools as it contradicts & is thus ultra virus to the Supreme Court order regarding fee fixation of unaided Private school.
Members contended that the session in summer zone starts every year in the month of April. And thus all school managements decide session fee in the month of March every year and usually decide the monthly salary of their employees including social security viz CPF, ESIC accordingly.
“In addition Government has imposed & extracted all types commercial taxes without providing any type of grant- in- aid & schools bears all expenses themselves,” he added.
All Executive members of central body appealed to the Govt. to take lenient view towards the private schools as most of such institution are being run by educated unemployed. It was unanimously decided that legal advice be sought to counter the said order if Govt. does not show any flexibility towards private institutions.
The prominent who attended the meeting included Vivek Chouhan, Vaneet Gupta, Ajay Singh, Rameshwar Singh Manhas, Anil Choudhary and Vishwa Mohan Sharma.
