JAMMU, Dec 16: The executive members of central body of Private Schools Association, led by Prof J L Kotwal, called on Prof Zahoor Ahmed Chatt, Chairman, J&K State Board of School Education, Jammu.
The members urged the Board authorities to resent new Government policy of conducting the examination of class 9th & 11th with SIE authorized to supervise the evaluation. They said Government order no 338-Edu of 2016 dated 16-09-16 with regard to the review of ‘No Detention Policy’ up to elementary level is totally vague as it is an attempt to encroach the autonomy of J & K Board by the State Government, they explained.
Further, the Association also demanded immediate action against those schools which are running dummy classes while allowing the students of their institution to continue their studies in tutorials ,tuition centers , coaching centers in school hours with in the State and out side the State etc.
Kamal Gupta, president of the Association, demanded immediate disposal of the files which are lying pending for the grant of affiliation / recognition due to the non availability fresh building safety certificate, Chemical safety certificate and Fire safety certificate. While granting affiliation/ recognition to such schools, Board should stipulate a condition on that particular school to produce said certificates by granting a time not less than six months, he added.
The Chairman JKBOSE listened to the members patiently and said that Government had not taken the Board authorities in confidence while including class 9th & 11th in the review of “No Detention Policy” up to elementary level. He said that the provision of detention from class 6th to 9th & 11th already exists as per the guide line issued from time to time to Board authorities since 1993 under CCES. He assured the members to take this matter with higher officials.
The Association deputation comprised of Rameshwar Mengi, Ajay Gupta, Vivek Chouhan, Sanjeev Luthra, Vaneet Gupta and Subash Chib.
