Pvt schools rue difficulties in getting timely NOCs from departments

JAMMU, Sept 5: To discuss the difficulties being faced by e small private schools in Jammu Urban, a meeting of Private Schools Association was arranged by Manohar Lal Gupta here today.
Members present in the meeting highlighted the scenario which has erupted due to the online portal generated for granting recognition and affiliation by the JKBOSE and School Education Department collectively.
They said that the departments authorized to issue essential NOCs, don’t so the same in a time bound manner with the result private schools become hapless to upload the same in one go on the portal of SED.
“In such circumstances, most of the schools are being harassed without any fault on their part initially by the different departments and then by the SED,” they added.
Further, they said, approval of management committee from the Director School Education after the verification of antecedents of the members involved in the management committee by the CID has also become a challenging task for the private schools.
During the meeting, PSA members unanimously decided to terminate Subash Singh Chib from the post of President, District Jammu, Urban. Lal Chand Gandotra, President (District Jammu Rural, will hold additional charge of Jammu Urban till next election of President of District Jammu Urban is announced.
Speaking in the meeting, President of the Association, Ajay Gupta hailed the decision of Chairman FFRC for the circular on September 02, 2024 by virtue of which all departments other than FFRC have been asked not to entertain any complaint related to the regulation / fixation of fee to avoid harassment to the parents and Private schools of JKUT.
