JAMMU, Mar 2: A deputation of Private Schools along with the Executive members of central body of J&K Private Schools Association called on Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta and discussed with her the new order issued by Fee Fixation Committee for all schools (CBSE, ICSE & JKBOSE) functioning in the State from Nursery to class 12th.
The deputation highlighted the difficulties while applying this order practically in their schools. “There is no doubt that this order will bring uniformity and prevent commercialization and exploitation allowing all private schools to enhance their fee structure annually by not more than 6 percent on the existing fee structure, but debarring Management of schools from charging one time admission fee at the time of first admission from the students has created a hurdle in the growth and maintenance of schools functioning in huge estates,” the Association members explained and added that y imposition of clause 12 of the order has become a big threat to all low and high budget schools.
The Association demanded rectification in clause 12 of order number 01 ffc of 2019 dated 28-01-2019 in the larger interest of education.
General secretary of the PSA, Ajay Gupta demanded permission to charge one time admission fee at the time of first admission by fixing minimum and maximum range as per land availability with the school, infrastructure and other allied facilities as done in case of Government schools vide Government order no 108 -Edu of 2018 dated 01-02-2018. He also demanded same type of mechanism to control unbridled educational institutions viz coaching centers/ tutorials / Pre -primary schools by applying SRO 123, SRO 292 and order number 01 ffc of 2019 dated 28-01-2019 as it is discriminatory to enforce the rules and SRO’s on Private schools only.
The Director listened to the members patiently and promised to bring all highlighted issues in the notice of higher-ups to mitigate their genuine grievances. The members in the deputation included Vishwa Mohan Sharma, Ajay Singh, Thomas Oman, R K Koul, Vijay Gupta, Ramesh Gupta, Ram Kumar, Rajesh Malhotra and others.
