*Seek roll back on backdoor appointments

DODA, Dec 7: Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) activists staged a protest demonstration against the back door political appointment of Dr Hina Shafi Bhat as the Vice Chairperson and others in the J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), at Bhaderwah town in district Doda today.
Led by Uday Chib, State PYC president, the activists assembled at Dak Bungalow Bhaderwah and launched protest. They were raising slogans against the Governor’s Administration. They also took out a protest march raising slogans against the Administration, Governor and the BJP. They termed the appointment of Dr Hina Bhat and other members of the KVIB as unethical and unconstitutional.
Addressing Youth Congress activists Chib said the order was issued by the State Industries and Commerce Department and Hina was accorded the status equivalent to that of Minister of State. Not only this the State Administration also appointed nine other non-official Members in the KVIB and majority of them are also associated with a particular political party.
Chib expressed surprise over the appointment of Dr Hina Bhat during the Governor’s rule. He criticized BJP at the Centre for interfering in the functioning of State affairs adding that such appointment are made first time in the history of the State and had never made during Governor’s Rule in the past.
Chib lambasted the BJP for doing nothing during its tenure for the welfare of people of the State. He said that Governor Satya Pal Malik has already exposed the BJP Government for the backdoor appointments during its previous regime in the State. He said BJP has been playing with the future of youth of the State by throwing away recruitment norms. The Youth Congress will never allow such type of politics. He said instead of creating job avenues BJP is indulged in corrupt practices by selling the Government jobs.
Pradesh Youth Congress demanded roll back on such appointments at the earliest failing which the PYC would launch a series of protests against the BJP and will expose BJP and the Governor’s Administration in the State.
Prominent among others who joined the protest included- Firdous Mingnoo State general secretary, Zakir Hussain District president Doda, Arif AYC president Bhaderwah.
