JAMMU, Dec 23: Pradesh Youth Congress held strong protest demonstration  against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, some BJP ministers on corruption charges against them  and burnt their effigies here today.
A large number of Youth Congress activists gathered at Press Club here under the leadership of Pankaj Basotra,  state general secretary and Lok Sabha president Jammu- Poonch Thakur Hoshiar Singh Chib and raised slogans against Narendra Modi and  some  corrupt party ministers of  Jammu. They also burnt their  effigy as mark of protest. The Congress activists also tried to block the Tawi bridge but later were intercepted by the policemen who were present there.
PYC president Pranav Shagotra in his statement said that Youth Congress is going to launch agitation across the State to expose the corrupt practices of Narender Modi in his involvement as per the report of Income Tax department that he has taken Rs 65 crores from several firms of Sahara Group and 25 cr from Aditya Birla Group during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat.
While addressing the gathering  Basotra and Singh said that in every public meeting Modi says he will not tolerate any sort of corruption but the bank accounts of Sahara and Aditya Birla Groups as per IT  department clearly shows his involvement in corruption when he was Chief Minister. The Youth Congress while demanding the enquiry from an independent agency also demanded his resignation.
They said that PM should step down  and an inquiry in this concern should be conducted. They also said that in coming days Youth Congress is going to launch state wide agitation  against  Modi on the basis of a revelation made by  Rahul Gandhi for taking Rs 25 crore from Aditya Birla Group when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat and taking Rs   40.1 crore from Sahara as per the Income Tax department’s records.
Ricky Dalotra, Anoop Gupta, Shabbir Kohli, Divyansh Singh, Jagjot Singh, Manjeet Singh, Kushwant Singh, Mohd Rafi Malik ,Vikrant Khajuria and others were also present.
