PYC protests against price hike, seeks restoration of statehood

JAMMU, Sept 30: J&K Pradesh Youth Congress today slammed the ruling government at the Centre for an unprecedented inflation in the country terming it as more deadly than the Covid pandemic.
Led by Uday Bhanu Chib, president J&K PYC, the activists assembled near Matador Stand Channi Himmat, Jammu and raised slogans against the BJP Government.
Talking to reporters during protest, Uday Chib said that BJP has steered the country to complete mess by its visionless and myopic misdeeds that it will take a long time to bring India back on tracks. He said that sky-rocketing inflation caused due to directionless policies of BJP which have hiked prices of essential commodities including household gas breaking all the previous records in the Jammu and Kashmir, which if comes into existence, will break the backbone of common people.
IYC secretary, Navdeep Kour said that the BJP led Government at the Centre had caused the greatest embitterment in the hearts and minds of the people of J&K by downgrading their status of statehood to a Union Territory. She said that the demotion of the state to the level of union territory was not only unprecedented but amounted to a great insult hurled upon the patriotic people of Jammu region. She said that the people feel humiliated, disparaged and offended.
Seeking restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, Jitender Singh, Block President Bahu warned BJP Government not to take J&K people for granted and restore statehood without wasting any more time failing which the people of Jammu region will on roads to get their demands fulfilled. “The BJP government has failed on all fronts including lack of education policy, huge decline in job opportunities and policy of oppression, repression and denial of rights,” he said.
Uday described Congress Party as strong and vibrant in J&K, capable enough to defeat anti-people forces in the country and that Congress Party has never compromised on its ideology, principles for the sake of power.
Among those who joined the protest include Vijay Chib vice president DCC Jammu Urban, Mandeep Singh Block president, Sahil Singh (Vice president JKPYC), Divyansh Singh (Gen Secy JKPYC), Anirudh Sahwney and Fiaz Choudhary (Secretary JKPYC), Happy Randhawa (DYC president), Gourav Sharma, Manav Choudhury, Gagan Brar and Gopal Sharma.
