PYC to intensify agitation: Shah Nawaz

JAMMU, Oct 10: Pradesh Youth Congress president Shah Nawaz Choudhary today said that party activists would intensify their agitation across the State for seeking empowerment of the Panchayati Raj institutions in the State under the provisions of 73rd Amendment of the Constitution of India.
Addressing a press conference here today, the PYC chief said that organization has resolved to intensify agitation in near future on the issue of empowerment to the Panchayats. Mr Choudhary extended gratitude to the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi for endorsing the demand  for strengthening the Panchayati Raj system in the State at par with the rest of the country.
Referring to holding of elections to the Block Development Councils in the State, PYC president said that it was positive sign towards fulfillment of  the demand of      Pradesh Youth Congress. He hoped that their struggle will bore fruits and Panchayats will be empowered under the provisions of  73rd Amendment. He claimed that PYC’s struggle will continue till the goal is achieved.
PYC vice president Pranav Shagotra, State general secretary  Manjit Singh Jatt and Lok Sabha president from Kathua-Udhampur- Doda, Pankaj Basotra also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, Youth Congress leader from Udhampur Sumit Mangotra has extended gratitude to the State education authorities for filling up of the post of CEO Udhampur  which was lying vacant for the last many months.
