Qadri elected AIP’s PAC Chief

SRINAGAR, Apr 1: Ishtiyaq Qadri has been elected as the Chairman of Awami Ittihaad Party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC), which is the highest decision-making body of the party.
In this regard, a party handout said that the decision was taken after a meeting held by its general secretary, Parvez Shah at the residence of its jailed leader Engg Rashid.
PAC constituted, handout said, will be headed by Qadri while others, which include, Parvez Jammal, Lone Ajaz, Khurshid Pirzada and Dr Bari Nayak, will be a part of it.
The PAC said that the AIP has its full confidence in the Constitution and Judiciary of the country and appealed to the Prime Minister and Home Minister to release all the political prisoners including Er Rashid, to ensure genuine, free and fair political activities in the UT “and help people to get rid of the exploiting leaders and their political parties, who are hell-bent to the political instability in the UT for their petty interests and ill motives.”
Qadri expressed gratitude to AIP leadership for their trust and confidence in him and assured that he will serve the party with sincerity, dedication and to the best of his capacities.
He also hailed the elevations of AIP’s leaders, Adv Ubaid and Mudasir to the party’s important positions.
