JAMMU, May 1: State president of the Employees Joint Action Committee, Ab Qayoom Wani has expressed his deep concern and regret that majority of employees working in different Central and State sponsored schemes were facing acute problems due to non payment of salary.
“The qualified boys and girls have been provided jobs in different schemes under State and Centre but neither State nor Central Government has adopted any comprehensive policy for regular payment of their salaries, which has resulted in adding to their worries rather than mitigating their problems,” he said.
While terming the issues of employees of Health and Family Welfare as genuine, he said that under these schemes the young boys and girls have been posted in different hospitals but the non payment of their salaries has made their position worse and their families are starving. Qayoom Wani made it categorically clear to State Government that thousands of qualified youth working in different departments were suffering due to non payment of salary and he termed it as a serious violation of human rights.
Ab Qayoom Wani said that for the last one year, no funds have been allotted to the special head for FMPHW under no 2211, which is sheer injustice with these employees He urged the State Government, especially State Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu and Health Minister Bali Bhagat to attend this sensitive and serious issue and take steps to release their pay. Otherwise EJAC will be constrained to announce a State wide agitation against the non payment of salaries to these employees, he announced.
The State spokesman of EJAC and president Health and Family Welfare Association, Kursheed Ahmad Bhat said that non payment of salaries has made their life miserable and demanded releasing the pay of employees working under Centrally sponsored schemes like SSA, SBM, NPS, RMSA.
