Quake jolts Kashmir

SRINAGAR, Aug 29: An earthquake of moderate intensity jolted Kashmir valley today.
The magnitude of the earthquake was measured on the Richter scale 5.7, with the epicentre at latitude 36.51 in the north and longitude 71.12 in the east.
The tremors were felt in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley for a few seconds.
The tremors were felt at 11.26 am in depth 225km region of Afghanistan.
So far, there have been no reports of loss of life or damage to property from anywhere in the Valley.
