JAMMU, Apr 16: A quiz competition on the life history of Dr BR Ambedkar was held at Shree Vishwakarma Library and Research Centre (SVLARC), New Plots, here today.
A total of seven teams participated in the competition, wherein each team consisted of four students. The quiz material was prepared and presented by Balwant Kataria, who asked a total of 15 questions on the life history of Dr BR Ambedkar to each team.
Team-B: Abhishek, Kanav Pikhan, Ashutosh and Kreetika Kataria topped the contest and won the cash prize of Rs 3000, while Team–D: Khushi , Ansh Kataria, Gourav Kataria and Riya Chalotra remained 1st runner up and secured the cash prize of Rs 2000 and Team –F: Mehak, Shivani Kataria , Nitin, and Janvi Krotra stood 2nd runner up with a cash prize of Rs 1200.
Besides other teams were Team- A; Gurdeep, Mukesh Verma, Akhilesh and Mansi Kataria, Team-C: Gunja, Harshdev Vishwakarma, Shuvam Verma and Radhika Kataria, Team-E : Mehak Bhagat, Neha Verma, Dhruv Kataria, Vanshika Dhiman and Team-G: Liza Chalotra ,Miss Ridhima Chalotra, Vidushi Chalotra, Nandita Krotra
The prizes were given away by Sudershan Salaria (KAS), F.C Sati ( President AIBCF), Avtar Verma, Madan Baldotra Chairman Prajapati Sabha, Vandana Sagar (Prez PVS Women wing) and Tersem Verma Lecturer.
The students from Savitribai Phule Modern School Bari Brahmana along with Sunita Bangotra, Principal were the special participants. Ramesh Angotra (Convener of Library) told the gathering that quiz programs are important and it is fun learning. In such competitions, brainstorming takes place and things become more and more clear. Quiz is a way of awareness in students towards any subject.
Balwant Kataria said that modern India is progressing because of the best constitution given by Dr Ambedkar. Dr Ambedkar burnt in the heat of the caste system and removed it forever in free India, he said.
Joginder Angotra, Om Parkash Kataria, Hrithik Malgotra, and Vishal Angotra were the members of the organizing team, while Sushma Verma, Sunita Bangotra, Raj Kumar Chalotra and Veena Chalotra also graced the event.
