JAMMU, Nov 18: The reserved category employees hailing from Jammu region and deployed in Kashmir staged massive protest demonstration at Press Club, Jammu today.
Under the banner of All Jammu Based Reserve Category Employees Association Kashmir along with various socio-religious organizations, the members and the employees assembled at Press Club Jammu during the day today and held protest demanding framing of a suitable comprehensive transfer policy for them. The employees are on continuous protest for last 171 days.

While speaking during the protest presidents of different socio-religious organization, including Sham Lal Basan- president Dalit Chetna Manch J&K, Narinder Bhagat- president All J&K Megh Sabha, Prithivi Singh- president J&K Batwal Sabha, Kali Dass- office bearer of OBCU, Capt Biru Ram Radha- president Barwala Biradri, FC Satia president AIBCF, Raj Kumar Chalotra vice president AIBCF and many others reiterated that the spree of target killing has not stopped in Kashmir and these employees were serving in Kashmir for last 15 years and now they are not in such a condition to perform their duties anymore in Kashmir.
They are not feeling safe to stay in Kashmir for a long time even their landlords are also in trouble and are afraid that militants may also kill them so many of the landlords have called the employees to vacate their rooms. The employees are in a fix what should they do. On the one hand they don’t have safe and secure accommodation and on the other hand, the DDO’S are threatening the employees to resume their duties. Many of the DDOs have stopped their salaries.
Now, these employees are demanding the immediate relief, release of their withheld salaries and exemption from Biometric Attendance System (BAS). They further added that government should frame a suitable comprehensive transfer policy at an earliest so that their services can be utilized in their home district/ division. After protest for several hours, they dispersed.
