JAMMU, Jan 28: 64th Republic Day was celebrated with pomp and show across Jammu region.
A flag hoisting ceremony was held in the Income Tax Office, Aayakar Bhawan to celebrate 64th Republic Day. AK Thatai, Commissioner unfurled the National Flag in presence of officer and staff. Guard of honour was performed by security personnel.
President, District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Urban Om Parkash hoisted the National Flag at Shaheedi Chowk to celebrate Republic Day. Mangat Ram Sharma, Former Deputy Chief Minister, Gurmukh Singh, vice president, PCC, members of PCC, DCC, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, Seva Dal, INTUC, NSUI and people participated.
NHPC Limited, Regional Office, Jammu celebrated Republic Day in which employees and CISF personnel participated. S Kalgaonkar, Executive Director hoisted the National Flag and threw light on the importance of the day.
Badri Nath Shiv Mandir Committee, Prem Nagar, New Plot celebrated 64th Republic Day. Chairman Kapil Dev Sharma, President Parshotam Abrol and Senior Member CL Wattal hoisted the National Flag.
Jammu Kashmir Christian Association organized a rally to celebrated Republic Day. The rally led by Waris Gill, president started from Christian Colony and culminated at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, where National Conference Provincial President Devinder Singh Rana hoisted the National Flag.
Indira Housing Colony Welfare Committee, Timber road, Janipur celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour. The National Flag was unfurled by president of the committee and general secretary. Students from various school participated in march past.
Shri Guru Nabha Dass Ji Maharaj Trust celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour. MD Dardi, Vice Chairman unfurled the National Flag in presence of other members of the trust.
Janta Dal Secular celebrated Republic Day. Mast Nath Yogi, president hoisted the National Flag at party headquarters in presence of other office bearers.

Jammu Kashmir Gorkha Sabha celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour at Gorkha Nagar. The National Flag was unfurled by president of the Sabha Babita Rana and also threw light on the importance of the day.
Mirpur Mahajan Sabha in cooperation with J&K Police Welfare Association celebrated 64th Republic Day. On the occasion, blankets, shawls and cash were distributed among the families of Police Jawans, who laid down their lives for the sake of the nation. Students from various educational institutions presented various cultural items.
Arya Pratinidhi Sabha celebrated Republic Day with patriotic fervour. The function started with chanting of Gayatri Mantra by Chain Lal Ji Shastri, followed by National Flag hoisting by Bharat Bhushan Arya, president of the Sabha in presence of other members.

Bharat Vikas Parishad Swami Vivekanand Branch Gandhi Nagar celebrated Republic Day at Bloom Public High School, Gandhi Nagar. The flag was hoisted by SN Sharma and Ved Raj Goswami, while Surinder Sethi, president of the branch and Principal VR Goswami were also present. Students performed a patriotic cultural programme.
