UDHAMPUR, Oct 17: In an impressive function organized by ‘Rachnakar Sahitya Akademy Udhampur’, wherein two books of Sahitya Akademy awardees Prakash Premi, were released.
The books, titled ‘Antarparkash’- a translation of Sanskrit book ‘Panchsatvi’ into Dogri and other Dogri poetry compendium ‘Man Gasen Satrangi Pinga’ were released by Padam Shri Professor Vishav Murti Shastri as chief guest, accompanied by Padam Shri Shiv Nirmohi, Professor Lali Magotra, Desh Bandhu Nutan Dogra, Yash Raina (President of Senior Citizens’ Club Udhampur), Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, Dr Adarsh, Ashok Angurana, Shiv Dev Singh Tyagi (Chairman Ramnagar branch of Senior Citizens’ Club Udhampur) and galaxy of writers from across Jammu province.
Prakash Premi has written about 19 books in Dogri and translated about 10 books from Hindi, Punjabi and Sanskrit to Dogri language.
Chief guest, while speaking on the occasion, gave a message that the contribution of Prakash Premi towards Dogri culture will go in the annals of history and he is pioneer in promoting Dogri Sahitya.
Professor Lalit Magotra, while congratulating Prakash Premi, said he is inspiration to all and especially the young writers , particularly in Dogri and his Dogri poetry in present book is heart touching and speaks of his inner voice.
Mahadeep Singh Jamwal said that for the last few years the release of books written in Dogri from Devika Nagri Udhampur has given a message that revolution in Dogri Sahitya is inevitable and Udhampur is the inspirational fountain of this revolution.
