SRINAGAR, Sept 20: The residents of the villages falling in the upper belt of Rafiabad in North Kashmir are facing immense trouble due to the poor mobile, internet connectivity while the students who are supposed to attend the online classes are the worst sufferers.
The locals as well as the students of these areas told Excelsior that they are facing erratic calling and internet services in several villages even as the administration is not taking measures to address the same.
Students said that the weak cellular signal is giving them a tough time and that the situation gets worse for them during the online classes. “Both the call connectivity as well as the internet services are not up to the mark in these areas,” they said.
They said that they are unable to make calls during an emergency and at times, the signal disappears suddenly due to which they are facing frequent call drops with the internet being just for the sake of it.
The residents said that while the people are enjoying the 5G services, they in these areas are not able to even make a call. “We have to walk kilometres to use the internet or even to make the call,” the residents.
The aggrieved residents said that they have been raising the issue with the concerned from time to time, but things have not changed even a bit.
The residents have once again appealed to the administration to take measures to address the issue. “The cellular companies should install towers in these areas so that we could avail the facility,” the residents demanded.
