Raghunath Temple to be developed under Prasad Scheme: Dir Tourism

*JCS holds spl presentation to showcase initiatives on cards

JAMMU, Aug 5: Director Tourism Jammu Vivekanand Rai today said that the Raghunathji Temple in Jammu City will be developed under Prasad Scheme of the Central Government which is exclusively meant for promoting religious tourism. He assured that the Temple will be given due share from this scheme to carry out required face-lifting and development.
He disclosed this while speaking as a chief guest during an event organized by Jammu Civil Society (JCS). During the event, JCS made a special presentation on the upcoming initiatives to be taken with regard to development of Raghunathji Temple and adding more facilities for the devotees.
Earlier, JCS president Baldev Khullar in a power point presentation depicted the comprehensive plan for the development of Raghunathji Temple. He proposed some initiatives to add sheen to the Raghunathji Temple. These included Akhand Aarti on every Tuesday, Parikarma Yatar on every Sankranti, and Hanuman Chalisa and Ramayan Paths on every Tuesday.
Besides, he proposed that a dedicated Parsad Counter and Reception Centre should be established to facilitate the visitors and devotees. “Feet-cleaning mechanism should be installed at the entrance, and the illumination of the entire temple complex should be carried out to make the place attractive during night time”, he said, adding that a 27-seater open bus Garud Sewa will also be available to promote religious pilgrimage from Raghunathji Temple to Purmandal and Utter Behni.
The event was also graced by Ajay Gandotra (president J&K Dharmarth Trust) as guest of honour and Pt Shiv Prasad Raina (chairman, advisory committee of J&K Dharmarth Trust Council), Dr Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma (secretary, J&K Dharmarth Trust) and Bharat Choudhary (member, advisory committee of J&K Dharmarth Trust Council) as special guests. JCS chairman Om Prakash Gupta was also present.
On the occasion, Director Tourism Jammu and president J&K Dharmarth Trust honoured Hira Lal Abrol (chairman, Healthy India Stronger India), Varinder Singh Jamwal (additional secretary, J&K Dharmarth Trust), Saubhaya Kapoor, Nitish Sharma and Suresh Sharma, Retired Justice and caretaker Panjbhaktar Temple for their role in promoting religious activities in J&K.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Gandotra urged the Director Tourism to extend possible assistance in making the temple complex a splendid destination for the devotees and the visitors.
