page1-4JAMMU, Dec 17: Former Union Minister and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad today said that AICC vice president and Member Parliament Rahul Gandhi was not allowed to speak in the House as he wanted to expose the corruption by Narendra Modi Government on the floor of the House.
Talking to media-persons on the sidelines of a function held here this afternoon, Azad said that Rahul Gandhi wanted to expose the corruption by Narendra Modi Government but he was denied opportunity to speak in the Parliament during recent session. He said Rahul Gandhi had declared that he had sufficient proofs against Modi Government and he wanted to expose the NDA Govt but they did not allow him to speak fearing exposure.
Replying to another question, Azad said that BJP was misleading people on the Augusta helicopter deal. He said that BJP always tried to divert the attention of the people from basic issues. “UPA had initiated inquiry into the helicopter deal and also cancelled the same after finding some fault. The issue was discussed in the Parliament several times and there is nothing new in it,” he added.
On demonetization issue, Azad said that this experiment of Modi has proved a big failure and the people of the country are paying the price. It was great blunder on the part of this Government. He said that farmers, employees and others are facing lot of problems due to demonetization.
To another question, he said that BJP is much involved in raising black money. The BJP spent Rs 20,000 crore in previous elections while Congress hardly spent Rs 500 crores. They should ensure the transparency in receiving donations/ blackmoney for the elections, he said.
About Congress meeting with Prime Minister in Delhi, Azad said Rahul Gandhi under took extensive yatra in UP recently and promised the farmers to take up the matter regarding waiver of loans with the PM. So, they appealed the PM during meeting to waive off the loan of the farmers and two crores filled forms of the farmers were also handed over to the PM, Azad maintained.
