NEW DELHI, June 30: Amidst the clouds of uncertainty over Anil Kumble’s future as Team India’s coach, Rahul Dravid is all set to continue as U-19 and India A coach for the next two years, said BCCI source. Dravid’s 10-month contract had expired on 31 March, 2017.
The Cricket Advisory Committee – comprising Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly – don’t have problem with Dravid being given a two-year extension although the former Indian captain will have to leave a job of being a mentor for the IPL team Delhi Daredevils due to conflict of interest issue. The financial aspect of Dravid’s contract is yet to be finalized.
Dravid has already sought more clarity on the conflict of interest issue after former Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Ramchandra Guha, in his scathing resignation letter, had lashed out at the BCCI’s functioning besides alleging conflict of interest in the case of Dravid. ,(agencies)
