AMETHI : Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi today filed his nomination papers as party candidate from Amethi parliamentary constituency this afternoon. Accompanied by his mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi, sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadera and her husband Robert Vadera, he reached at Amahat airport in adjacent district of Sultanpur and reached the Gauriganj, the district headquarters of Amethi after about 40 Kms long road show.
Seeking election from Amethi Lok Sabha seat for the third time after having elected from here in 2004 and 2009 polls, Mr Gandhi filed his nomination in four sets. Emerging from the room of the returning officer, the Congress vice president said he did not think his election would be a problem because he had family links with the people of Amethi. “I always find pleasure in doing something for the people of Amethi and will continue to do so in the future as well,” he added.
